Commerce and Culture – Liverpool Business District.
A class-based tour of the city’s many and varied business and cultural buildings. We will examine these buildings and how the city has been shaped by these two imperatives. Through slide presentations, group discussion and a walking tour each term, we will try to understand the built environment, its history, its creators and why it looks as it does.

      Course Content: (6 weeks )

Route 1 – Liverpool Business District

Week 1 – Introduction, Terms, Styles, Context;

The Town Hall; Exchange Square

Week 2 – Castle Street 1

Week 3 – Castle Street 2

Week 4 – Old Business Area

Week 5 – New Business Area

Week 6 – Walking tour of Route 1
