Lives & Loves Of The Ancient Egyptians

Part I: New Kingdom Pharaohs, including Tutankhamun
This course will use a variety of evidence, archaeological, textual and physical (mummies), to access the lives of the ancient Egyptians. This will be an exercise in detective work!  Part I will begin examining the life, tomb and treasure of Tutankhamun.  This will be the perfect preparation for anyone visiting the Tutankhamun: The Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery London, December 2019 – May 2020. This will provide the last opportunity to view many objects before their permanent display in the new Cairo Museum.  The lives of those surrounding Tutankhamun will also be scrutinised.
