The New Kingdom: Using a variety of evidence, archaeological, textual and physical this course will consider the lives of the ancient Egyptians. We will examine the footprints left by key individuals from the New Kingdom, the most prosperous time period in Egyptian history. We will consider if it is possible to gain an understanding of them as people. Our biographies will include well known and overlooked royals and members of their court. For example, Yuya and Thuya, in-laws of Amenhotep III, who were given a sumptuous burial in the Valley of the Kings.
