Egyptology: An Illustrated History

Step back in time with  an illustrated history of ancient Egypt from the Predynastic period (4000 BC) to the Greco Roman period (395 AD). Explore the culture and beliefs of an ancient society, based on the archaeological remains, objects of art and texts in translation. Iconic monuments and key discoveries will be considered, for example the pyramids at Giza and the tomb of Tutankhamun. Two field trips are included to the Garstang Museum, at the University of Liverpool and World Museum Liverpool, which provide the rare opportunity to handle artefacts from ancient Egypt.
